If you are looking to visit a small town in Thailand, but one that still has everything you need, then Hua Hin is the town for you. Hua Hin is a coastal town that’s located in Prachuap Khiri Khan province in the South of Thailand. Hua Hin is a favourite among tourists that are trying to escape from the busy Phuket, Bangkok and Chaing Mai. If you want to experience Thailand without all the parties, then we recommend this town.

Hua Hin was one of the first towns in Thailand that we visited. We stayed here for three weeks, and this is when we completely fell in love with Thailand. During our stay, we had the opportunity to stay at The Sanae Beach Club Resort. There’s a lot of hotels and beautiful resorts that you can easily book by using websites such as Booking.com or even Agoda. We prefer Booking.com, but it is totally up to you.
Hua Hin has two beautiful shopping malls known as Market Village Shopping Mall and BlúPort Hua Hin Resort shopping Mall. There you can find a few great restaurants as well as treat yourself to a movie, Thai style. You will also find some of the well-known fast-food places here if you’re not quite ready to experience the Thai cuisine just yet, but do yourself a favour and eat some local Thai food, it’s delicious.
Things to do in Hua Hin
There are many beautiful attractions to visit in Hua Hin. Things that you shouldn’t miss out on during your stay here. You can treat yourself to all these beautiful attractions. They are located not far outside of the main town. Here is a list of our favourite attractions in Hua Hin:
1.The first attraction is Monkey Mountain. Here you will be surrounded by hundreds of wild monkeys while hiking up the mountain to see some beautiful temples.
2. A jungled theme waterpark is known as Vana Nava Waterpark. It will cost around 1000Baht per person entrance fee, but it’s an amazing place to take kids.
3. You can also do a hike to Pala-U Waterfall. It’s a tough hike, but it’s one with a great reward.
4. Our favourite attraction while we were in Hua Hin, was the Phraya Nakhon Cave. It’s an hour outside of the main town, but it’s worth the drive. You can easily do the drive-by getting a private taxi or tuk-tuk. This beautiful cave is known for the shrine that they built inside the cave and for the previous Kings who visited here. You can get to this cave either by hiking or by taking a long-tail boat. We took the long tail boat there and hiked back. The long-tail boat is cheaper when many people share because you don’t pay per person but a set price for the boat.
5. Cicada Weekend Market is so unique. This market is not like all the other markets in Thailand where you can find all those cheap fake products. This market has a variety of very unique hand made products. It’s a little bit more expensive than the other markets, but it’s worth it. The products are beautiful, and you can spend hours at this market not just looking at all the unique one of kind things but also for the live entertainment. If you feel like you haven’t spoiled yourself enough with all the beautiful things you bought, you can treat yourself to a fantastic meal at the outside food court and a drink at one of the bars.
This town is a coastal town and has some beaches, but they aren’t like the unbelievable blue beaches that Thailand is known for. The water is a bit browner, but you can still enjoy the waters if you don’t mind it. And Hua Hin has some beautiful beachside resorts.
How to get around Hua Hin Town
Hua Hin has a lot of great ways to get around, you can either use the Songtaews which cost between 5-10 Baht per trip. Songtaews are like a truck that has been converted into the public transport truck. You can also use the Tuk-Tuks or Meter Taxis.
