Nakhon Ratchasima is located about 3 hours northeast of Bangkok, but surprisingly not that popular amongst tourists. This is the most romantic province that we have been to in Thailand. Even though it doesn’t have the beautiful beaches that Thailand is known for, it has its charms. Nakhon Ratchasima is so unique that most of the time you spend there, you might ask yourself if you are even still in Thailand. Most of the buildings here are built-in an Italian style, but it doesn’t just stop there. You can walk straight out of a taste of Italy into a French-inspired village and finish your world trip at a replica of the lifeblood of London, River Thames. From Castles, mountains, waterfalls, sunflower fields to Italian inspired villages, couples will find it all in Nakhon Ratchasima.

It’s mostly known for the Death Railway bridge that was built during World War 2, and the tragic deaths of the prisoners that were forced to build this bridge over the River Kwai. The reason why it made it onto the list of most romantic destinations in Thailand is because of the Erawan National Park and Sai Yok National Park. We do, however, recommend avoiding Kanchanaburi during April because it’s the peak of summer.

Koh Samui is the second-largest island in the South of Thailand. Some people consider it to be one of the most romantic islands in Thailand. Koh Samui is known for its white sandy beaches, coconut groves, mountainous rainforest, plus luxury resorts and spas.
Couples can explore many of the island’s waterfalls, or discover the 12-meter tall Buddha statue that stands on a small island just of the mainland of Koh Samui. There is just something so romantic about stepping back in time. Ayutthaya is one of Thailand’s most ancient towns. It used to be the former capital of Thailand, and some of the highlights include Wat Mahathat, Wat Yai Chai Mongkorn and Bang Pa In Palace. Couples can explore the whole town on a bicycle or a tuk-tuk ride. With ancient temples all around, you can escape from the present and imagine life 700 years ago.
